The Raytron 566 Step Control is a machine sequencing controller that organizes and advances operating stages one step at a time, using input signals and timing logic to control the order of machine actions.

What it usually does in a machine

A board of this type is generally responsible for functions such as:

• Step advance logic
• Moves the machine from one stage to the next,
• Sequence control
• Determines which output or function is active at each moment
• Timing / dwell control
• Keeps a function active for a preset time before advancing
• Input monitoring
• Waits for confirmation from switches, sensors, or interlocks
• Cycle coordination
• Manages the start, progression, and completion of the machine cycle
• Output switching
• Energizes relays or control signals for valves, motors, clutches, solenoids, or other machine functions.
